California native, Jana Turner’s creativity and knowledge of design began with her Japanese mother who taught her flower arrangements. As she was trained in balance, negative space, and design, this Japanese classical art of refinement became foundational to Jana's life. While studying art history at California State University, Los Angeles, she worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The MOCA was the perfect place for her to study art as well as fashion in the 1990’s LA.
Jana began designing jewelry while she was working as a jewelry buyer for a well known design store in Los Angeles. After 15 years of experience, she became a veteran of the jewelry design world and began creating pieces in her own voice. Through this medium, Jana found her place in the world of design and the realization that others shared her taste in a unique design aesthetic.
